The Work Of His Fingers

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You have ordained,
what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?
 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,

and You have crowned him with glory and honour.
You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen--even the beasts of the field,

 the birds of the air,

and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:3-9

Double Digits

She'd planned her underwater birthday party for months, maybe even since she turned nine. The goal was to visit the new Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto and then have the theme continue when her friends arrived a couple days later for her party. Just in time, a homeschool email circulated inquiring families who'd like to see the Aquarium at a discount. Perfect. But, beyond parties and grand underwater field trips, this kid was just elated to finally turn double digits.

Emily, you brighten our world. Your dramatic responses to life keep us laughing! You have such a heart for children who are new to a group or seem to have no friends. You always dream of feeding the poor on your own one day and we pray the Lord will bless you immensely in such a noble occupation. Enjoy your double digits for many years to come! Happy birthday, our passionate, diligent girl. We love you. XO
