In-law Love

My cup runneth over with laughter when I'm with my in-laws. We just like to be together and all six siblings, five spouses, Mom and Dad and twenty grandchildren (with boyfriends and a fiancé), make a whole lot of noise at a family gathering. But when we spend a weekend together, it's just a rip-roaring good time!

There were so many fantastic memories from this weekend, such as, Linda being well-enough to join us, treats and great conversations at night, eating together, the guys using the hot tub in the adjacent hotel, and the wrestling match between siblings to throw each other into the lake. But the best moment was when Rob, Kevin and Mike sat down at the lengthened restaurant breakfast table each wearing the dress-shirts we were giving Dad as gifts for his birthday. He finally noticed there were tags hanging out on the fronts of these guys and pointed it out in bewilderment. We burst out laughing and he finally figured it out. They stood and unbuttoned and handed the shirts over right there. Beats wrapping :)  

 

 

Sailing Into The City

It was another year of bidding on the "Sunset Sail" for Jeff and Kim's Ride For The Cure auction and we were excited. Our money went to a good cause (in our sister's name) and we got to sail into Toronto with our friends for the evening--a donation by Captain Fred :) 

 Annie took a whole lot of pictures of Terry and I and I couldn't tell when she would stop!

Loving summer, loving boating, loving friends and praying against cancer's devastating toll on our families tonight.

1363/ our yearly boat rental and how being in the middle of a lake makes us feel big and small
1364. stopping for ice cream at the marina near the locks
1365. how the cormorants race the boats in the sky
1366. how we jump off the boat in the middle of the lake for a deep dive swim
1367. how they sing like no one across the lake is listening from their cottages :)
1368. how we watched a mink scuttled across the dock and under the boathouse and how they tried to follow him
1369. how they all can pull apart worms and squish them onto hooks
1370. the way the wake mesmerizes when you stare lazily out the back of the boat
