Soaking In His Presence

Do you know that kind of prayer when you're not really praying? You lie still on your bed or somewhere else and you're just quiet. The Bible talks about it as meditation (Psalm 4:3-5). You can focus on Scripture as you meditate or simple be still and know that He is God. Soak in His presence. He'll meet you there. Why? Because you're honouring Him with your time and your focus. He promises He will... "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8)

In a quiet place with brisk air and brilliant autumn colour, we met together to spend time with the Lord. It's not that we need to be in a group to hear our Creator, but somehow, setting aside the time to truly focus on Him makes the "things of earth grow strangely dim".

Soak in His presence, today, my friend. He'll speak to you in ways you can't hear Him when you aren't really listening.
