A Little Backward

We sell eleven-hundred of them but somehow we end up picking out ours late. The children run through the homemade "woods" at the nursery, spinning trees, checking all sides. They're particularly attracted to the odd-shaped ones so my husband and I just nod and smile.

They're really there for the run, and the spinning, and the hiding in between the trees.

"Welcome to my nursery!"

"Tree Huggers"

Our beloved choice now stands majestically, just off the kitchen, branches slowly falling into place in the warmth. And so, we pull ornaments out from storage and commence the traditions once again, children giggling and lapping up the joy, like it's the first time.
We've read the story of the real first Christmas, over and over the past two weeks, we've created art, we've written our own stories, we've baked. And although, it might seem a little backward this year, today, we decorate.

All the trees look very nice (surely there are no odd shaped ones)!! Happy decorating! We still have to get our tree yet.

CLAAAAASSSSIC!!!

I love this..."we sell 1100 of them, but somehow we end up picking ours late"

I actually burst out laughing as I visualized...

Heather: "Ok Honey, seriously, can we get ours done sooner this year?"

Terry: "Yes dear"

Next year the same week...

Heather: "so we Finally got our tree, late again..."

I detail everyone else's cars, but neglect my own...I have yet to figure that one out.

I just love everything about this post. Your beautiful pictures took me right back to my childhood. That was one of my favorite December activities - agonizing and debating about the perfect tree with my sisters...

I was so sad when my parents moved to an artificial tree.

My hubby is the artificial tree fan too. Although I'm sure if we lived up near you guys, I could probably convince him to buy one at your nursery, because of course we would be in-person friends. I'm sure of it! :)
