We Heart Autumn

I love that this season has two names. Whichever you're in the mood for, it rolls off your tongue so nicely :) As the trees show off their new colours and my children exclaim of their beauty around every corner we drive or walk, I praise God for this extra time with them. Homeschooling allows for so many wonder-filled moments as a family and I wouldn't trade it. Even on difficult days, my eyes are opened to the gift I have in pointing out the Lord's goodness and creativity every minute I have.
Now, to work on them seeing His goodness in me!
The downside to homeschooling is that they witness every mood of mine--good and bad--and experience the times I fail them. This can also be an upside if I use the Lord's guidance as a lesson for them to see my humanness and how He molds me. So, as I change along with the season this month, I pray that it will be noticed by my children and that they'll understand how the Almighty Creator of the earth is interested in the state of our hearts.
Blowing through straws to create unique trees

That's right, we don't suck it up, we blow out.

Celebrating Fall means a whole week of art and reading about Thanksgiving :)

And singing, "Praise God from Whom all blessings flow..."

Dabbing colourful leaves with a cotton swab.

Talking about God's care for His creation.

Enjoy every minute of Autumn/Fall!

These paintings are soooo pretty! I think I should take some time to create with the kids...thanks for the nudge in the right direction!

I am SO WITH YOU about my children seeing every moment of my day - all the ways I fall and fail - it's hard, and it's an opportunity to point all of us to the cross. Thanks for being so honest and transparent.

And I LOVE the trees!!!

What a creative idea. Did your little one's keep the paint blowing to the paper...

hmmm, I want to do this bad enough that maybe we'll try this outside and then come in for the leaf part... We like to pretend that we have a normal fall like the rest of you all! :)
